What is this web?

Minisampler is a web tool intended to allow musicians to create basic rythms and tunes using samples.

how do I use it?

What is that grid?

The grid represents the samples that should play and at what time. Take a look at this:

The grid picture above means at time t=0 should play instruments 1 and 2. At time t=1, only instrument 2. At time t=4, instrument 3 is played. And at time t=5, instruments 2 and 4 are played.

isn't there a better way to choose the samples than that tedious drop-down list?

Yes. Click on an instrument button and then the sample you want to assign to it.

How do I assign an instrument to a given time?

To mark an instrument as playing at a certaint time t, left-click the mark, and a square should appear. If you left-click on a square, the mark should dissapear. Right-click a square to edit it, instead of deleting it. Then, you should be able to edit its pitch and volume.
